Job Description

MPS Auto Sales is seeking an experienced, results-driven General Manager to lead the overall performance of our independent used car dealership in Tucson, Arizona.

This position reports directly to the Owner and is responsible for overseeing Sales, Finance (F&I), Operations, Inventory, Customer Experience and Team Performance.

We are looking for a business-minded leader who can develop people, build systems, improve processes, increase profitability and create a culture of accountability and high performance.

This is a hands-on leadership position. We are not looking for someone who simply manages from an office. We are looking for a leader who leads by example, makes decisions, solves problems and helps the business grow.

The ultimate objective of this position is to build an organization that operates successfully without requiring the Owner to be involved in the day-to-day operation of the dealership.

Responsibilities

Lead the dealership’s daily operations.
Manage Sales, Finance (F&I), BDC and Operations.
Recruit, hire, train, develop and evaluate employees.
Develop future department leaders.
Build a culture of accountability, discipline and continuous improvement.
Improve lead response, appointment setting, follow-up and closing ratios.
Increase monthly vehicle sales while protecting gross profit.
Monitor sales team performance and ensure goals are achieved.
Maintain strong relationships with banks, lenders and credit unions.
Oversee inventory management, pricing, aging and vehicle rotation.
Supervise recon, service, detailing and vehicle readiness.
Reduce recon turnaround time and control operating expenses.
Implement systems, SOPs and measurable KPIs.
Conduct daily, weekly and monthly management meetings.
Monitor dealership profitability and expense control.
Deliver organized reports directly to ownership.
Resolve operational, employee and customer issues before they reach ownership.
Ensure every department understands its goals and is accountable for results.
Build a strong organization capable of supporting long-term growth.

What We’re Looking For

Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written) is required.
Minimum 5 years of automotive dealership management experience.
Proven experience managing Sales, Finance (F&I) and Operations.
Experience hiring, developing and leading employees.
Strong understanding of dealership profitability, KPIs and business operations.
Experience managing inventory and recon operations.
Excellent leadership, organizational and decision-making skills.
Ability to solve problems independently.
DealerCenter or similar DMS experience preferred.
Valid Driver’s License.
Only candidates with previous automotive dealership management experience will be considered.

Base Salary: $65,000–$80,000 annually (DOE – Depending on Experience).
