About the Opportunity
Established family-owned independent auto dealership serving southwest Alabama is seeking a hands-on General Manager to run daily operations and drive consistent business performance.
Ownership is not onsite daily. This role requires a self-directed leader who can independently manage staff, enforce processes, and deliver measurable results.
This is a results-driven leadership position focused on operations, accountability, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Run all day-to-day dealership operations
- Lead and hold sales staff accountable for performance
- Drive consistent monthly sales targets (35+ vehicles)
- Manage inventory acquisition, pricing, and aging
- Improve recon-to-frontline speed and inventory turn
- Structure and approve deals including prime and subprime financing
- Monitor KPIs, performance metrics, and store profitability
- Hire, train, and coach sales team members
- Enforce dealership processes and operational standards
- Maintain lot presentation and operational discipline
- Provide weekly performance reporting to ownership
Requirements
- Automotive dealership management experience required
- Strong leadership and team management ability
- Experience with subprime lending and lender relations
- Process-driven mindset focused on results
- Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
- Experience managing inventory and dealership operations
Compensation
- Competitive base salary
- Performance-based bonus structure
- Total compensation potential: $80,000 – $140,000+
