Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Parts Manager to oversee our parts department and ensure efficient operations within our automotive service facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, inventory control, and customer service, with a focus on delivering high-quality parts and exceptional service to our clients. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge and managerial skills to effectively lead the team and manage supplier relationships.
Duties
- Manage the procurement and inventory of automotive parts, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet customer demand.
- Oversee supply chain management processes, including sourcing, purchasing, and logistics.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate pricing and terms for automotive parts.
- Utilize ERP systems for inventory management, demand planning, and order management.
- Implement warehouse management practices to enhance efficiency in shipping & receiving operations.
- Provide support in automotive diagnostics and repair processes as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices within the warehouse environment.
- Train and mentor staff on inventory control procedures, customer service excellence, and effective use of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Monitor performance metrics related to parts sales, inventory turnover, and supplier performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive parts management or a related field; dealership experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes including procurement management, logistics, and inventory control.
- Familiarity with automotive repair processes, including auto body repair and equipment repair.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems (such as AS400) for data entry, order management, and reporting.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on supplier management and pricing strategies.
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely within the warehouse environment; forklift certification is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing inventory levels and order fulfillment.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues effectively.
