Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Automotive Parts Manager to lead our parts department with enthusiasm and expertise. In this role, you will oversee the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of automotive parts, ensuring seamless operations that support our service and repair teams. Duties
- Manage the daily operations of the automotive parts department, including inventory control, order processing, and shipping & receiving activities.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to source OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts efficiently, ensuring competitive pricing and timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate records using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and order management systems to track inventory levels, sales, and supplier performance.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules while fostering long-term partnerships through effective supplier management.
- Oversee warehouse management tasks such as stock rotation, equipment repair, forklift operation, and adherence to safety protocols including HVAC and warehouse equipment maintenance.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics knowledge to assist in sourcing specialized parts for repairs or manufacturing needs.
- Coordinate demand planning efforts to forecast inventory needs accurately based on dealership or service center requirements.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards for automotive repair, auto body repair, sourcing OEM parts, and logistics procedures.
- Lead efforts in procurement management by evaluating supplier performance, managing sourcing strategies, and optimizing supply chain workflows.
- Supervise shipping & receiving processes to ensure timely dispatch of parts while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of supply chain management principles within the automotive industry.
- Proven experience in supplier management, negotiation, and procurement management.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with automotive diagnostics expertise.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with inventory management techniques including demand planning, inventory control, and purchasing strategies.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification preferred.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for equipment repair tracking.
- Understanding of automotive service processes, OEM parts sourcing, auto body repair standards, and dealership operations.
- Excellent data entry skills coupled with attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
- Customer service orientation with strong communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
- Knowledge of logistics procedures related to shipping & receiving as well as transportation planning. Pay: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
