Structural Steel, Miscellaneous Iron, and Stair Contractor is seeking an in-house employee to supervise our steel fabrication shop and yard operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of union steel workers
- Read and utilize blueprints/drawings to prepare work plans
- Established and adjust work sequences to meet schedules
- Assist workers in performing tasks such as welding, bolting, chipping and using power tools
- Supervise material handling, rigging and truck loading
- Maintain time and safety records
- Preparing material and equipment for shipment to various jobsite
- Organizing trucking schedules
Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinate activities with ECIW’s union field forces
- Maintain equipment, tools and consumables
- Analyze and resolve work problems.
- Provide leadership in setting safety, production, and conduct examples
- Additional miscellaneous, incidental, or similar duties which may be required from a day-to-day supervisor
Work Experience Requirements
- Familiarity with steel members, erection equipment and tools
- Ability to read drawings and material lists
- Ability to safely rig material and equipment
- Experience in a steel fabrication shop
- Management experience
