JOB TITLE: OE Customer Service Status: Salary, Non - Exempt
REPORTS TO: Logistics Manager
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Process Original Equipment Automotive Customer orders through the production system to ensure timely shipment. Provide solutions to potential situations that may hinder successful shipment of products. Consistently work in a safe manner. Follow company guidelines intended to reduce scrap, improve efficiency, and meet quality requirements.
JOB DUTIES:
· Process, communicate, and follow OE customer requirements as received through the computer system.
· Check and verify inventories as appropriate to ensure timely completion and shipment of customer orders.
· Contact customer with any possible issues or concerns that could effect timely delivery and work with customer to solve potential concerns.
· Communicate with logistics providers for window times and any other issues relating to shipments.
· Perform EDI functions to receive releases for customers.
· Uses professional judgment to analyze releases to determine shipping quantities and create shipping schedules. Communicate requirements to Material Flow Coordinator.
· Determine if stock is sufficient to meet shipments.
· Generate shipping documents.
· Directs activities for expedited shipments when necessary.
· Directs shipments of new/sample parts.
· Help to coordinate breakpoint on old/new parts to avoid obsolescence.
· Perform EDI functions to notify OE customers of all shipments.
· Send ASNs via Internet or e-mail when required.
· Maintain and update computer records for OE customers.
· Resolve EDI issues in coordination with local and global IT department.
· Check for and communicate label changes to material leads and shipping.
· Responsible to maintain effective and professional relationships with suppliers and customers.
· Create and implement solutions for corrective actions in the event timely deliver is not met.
· Verify and maintain CUMquantities and customers’ CUMrollover as required by customer.
· Reads, understands and conforms to ISO 14001 & TS 16949 procedures with a primary focus relevant work instructions.
· Plan and attend required department meetings with leaders and management to discuss plans, results, problems, and scheduled production.
· Must work in a safe manner at all times, abiding by the rules set for the work area. Immediately report any seen or foreseen problems in work area to leader or management.
· Maintain a clean work environment continuously throughout the day by properly disposing of debris and keeping work area clean. Adhere to the Environmental, Health & Safety policies to conserve energy and promote recycling.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING:
· Self-directed with continuous mental and visual attention required while performing multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy and quality.
· Common intelligence, courtesy, and a cooperative spirit needed to respond to changing customer requirements, internal department requests, customer communications, and solutions for serious problems.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in oral, written, or diagram, manual or schedule form and occasionally use simple writing or arithmetic skills to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, weights, and volume.
· Possess a thorough knowledge of manufacturing and material flow operations and work through problems making sound judgment decisions based upon prior manufacturing experience.
· Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Programs such as Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, PowerPoint and Outlook. Will be required to enter data into spreadsheets and initiate or respond to emails. Ability to learn SAP modules supporting materials group.
· Low physical effort required consisting of standing or walking 4-5 hours, sitting 4-5 hours, rarely lifting up to 40 pounds, twisting, bending and squatting, pushing and pulling, climb stairs, and constant use of arms to fingers to inspect, assist, write or type reports.
· Required to wear safety glasses and hearing protection at all times on the production floor.
· High school diploma or GED required.
· One to two years of related work experience preferred.
· Preferred specific training: Master, Shipping & Transportation, Billing, Sales Information System, Electronic Data Interchange, CMMS3 for Ford Production Suppliers, DDL for Ford Customer Service Division FCSD, and ISO 14001 & TS 16949 department procedures and instructions
· Preferred specific training: Problem Solving. Microsoft programs. Introduction to Ford MP&L Training (for Ford NA Production Suppliers)
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
