Duties
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the service department, ensuring timely and quality vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Supervise and motivate technicians, service advisors, and support staff to meet performance targets and uphold high standards of customer service.
- Oversee vehicle diagnostics, mechanical repairs, oil changes, brake repairs, transmission work, suspension services, tire rotations, alignments, and other automotive repair tasks.
- Implement upselling strategies by identifying additional services or repairs that benefit customers while increasing departmental revenue.
- Ensure accurate auto estimating, service writing, and documentation for all repair orders and customer interactions.
- Maintain compliance with dealership policies, safety regulations, and industry standards related to automotive diagnostics and repair procedures.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with comprehensive auto service management skills.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, repairs (including diesel engines), transmissions, shocks & struts, brake systems, air brakes, alignment, suspension components, oil changes, auto body repair, tire service, and auto estimating.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Demonstrated ability to upsell services ethically while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Experience in auto sales or automobile sales is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to lead a team effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
