Overview
Suffolk county Chrysler dealer is looking for a parts manger. Join our dynamic team as a Parts Department Manager, where you will lead and optimize all aspects of the parts department to ensure seamless operations, exceptional customer service, and efficient inventory management. Duties
- Oversee daily operations of the parts department, including inventory management, order processing, and shipping & receiving activities.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) partners to negotiate pricing, terms, and sourcing strategies that benefit the organization.
- Utilize ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and order management software to track inventory levels, demand planning, and procurement activities.
- Implement warehouse management best practices to optimize storage space, streamline logistics, and ensure accurate data entry for inventory control.
- Coordinate with automotive service teams and dealership personnel to fulfill parts requests promptly and accurately.
- Monitor supply chain performance metrics and develop strategies to improve procurement efficiency and reduce costs.
- Supervise warehouse staff, including forklift operators and equipment repair technicians, ensuring safety compliance and operational productivity.
- Maintain detailed records of procurement activities, pricing adjustments, and supplier performance using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) or AS400 systems.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, including demand planning, sourcing, and logistics coordination.
- Proven experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating favorable terms.
- Mechanical knowledge related to automotive diagnostics, auto body repair, HVAC systems, and equipment repair.
- Expertise in warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control techniques, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Familiarity with ERP platforms such as AS400 or similar order management systems for seamless procurement processes.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on dealership experience and automotive service support.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data entry, pricing strategies, procurement management, and demand forecasting.
