Duties
- Manage the end-to-end parts inventory process, including sourcing, ordering, receiving, and stocking automotive parts and accessories
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and sourcing options that benefit the dealership
- Oversee warehouse management activities to ensure accurate inventory control using systems such as ERP or inventory management software like AS400 or CMMS
- Coordinate logistics for shipping & receiving to guarantee timely availability of parts for service repairs and customer orders
- Utilize automotive diagnostics knowledge to identify parts requirements for vehicle repairs and maintenance
- Implement demand planning strategies to forecast parts needs based on sales trends, service schedules, and manufacturing schedules
- Lead procurement management efforts by sourcing OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts and managing internal communication channels for efficient parts administration
- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to forklift operation, warehouse safety protocols, and inventory handling procedures
- Maintain detailed records of part sourcing, pricing negotiations, procurement activities, and inventory levels using Microsoft Office tools and inventory management systems
- Support auto body repair operations by providing necessary parts efficiently while managing internal order management systems for accuracy
Requirements
- Proven experience in dealership parts management or automotive service environment with a strong understanding of automotive parts and accessories knowledge
- Demonstrated expertise in supply chain management, procurement management, logistics inventory management, and demand planning
- Hands-on experience with inventory control systems such as ERP systems (e.g., AS400), Parts Management Software, or similar platforms like CMMS or order management systems
- Strong negotiation skills with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and sourcing agreements
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems to accurately identify parts requirements during diagnostics or repairs
- Familiarity with warehouse management practices including shipping & receiving procedures and forklift operation certification where applicable
- Excellent communication skills for internal coordination across departments such as sales, service, auto body repair, and logistics teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data entry, reporting, and analysis purposes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced dealership setting while maintaining high customer service standards
