Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor / Writer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact between customers and our service department, ensuring a seamless experience from vehicle check-in to vehicle delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong automotive knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, understanding their vehicle concerns and needs
- Write detailed service estimates and communicate repair recommendations effectively
- Upsell additional services and maintenance based on customer needs and vehicle condition
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs and services
- Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed, parts used, and customer interactions
- Handle cash transactions and process payments securely
- Educate customers on vehicle maintenance, repair options, and recommended services such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, alignments, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, auto body repairs, air brake systems, and more
- Assist in managing service schedules and follow-up appointments to enhance customer satisfaction
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair procedures to provide expert advice
Experience
- Dealership experience or auto service management background preferred
- Proven experience in auto service writing or automotive diagnostics
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including transmissions, oil changes, auto body repair, air brakes, alignment, suspension, tire service, diesel engines, shocks & struts, brake repair
- Service technician experience or automotive repair expertise highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell services effectively
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and sales processes is a plus
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and professionally

Pay: $60,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
