The Herb Chambers Companies is seeking an experienced, results-driven Service Manager to lead our service department in Massachusetts. We are looking for a dynamic leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, developing high-performing teams, and driving operational excellence.
Position Overview
The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the service department, including daily operations, team leadership, financial performance, and customer satisfaction. This role ensures efficient workflow, adherence to company standards, and a culture focused on quality and integrity.
The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type and years and experience within the industry, education, etc.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop service advisors, technicians, and support staff
- Drive service department revenue, profitability, and expense control
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement improvement strategies
- Ensure exceptional customer experience and maintain high CSI scores
- Oversee scheduling, workflow management, and repair quality control
- Maintain compliance with manufacturer and company policies
- Foster a positive, team-oriented workplace culture
- Handle escalated customer concerns with professionalism and urgency
Qualifications
- 5+ years of automotive service department leadership experience
- Proven record of meeting or exceeding performance and financial goals
- Strong knowledge of dealership operations, warranty processes, and manufacturer standards
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyze financial statements and service metrics
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license
