Overview
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dynamic dealership team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers requiring vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring a seamless service experience. This role involves coordinating service appointments, communicating technical information effectively, and promoting additional services to enhance customer satisfaction and dealership revenue. Prior dealership experience and automotive service management skills are highly valued for this position.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing a positive rapport.
- Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues.
- Prepare detailed auto estimates for repairs such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, alignments, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repairs.
- Communicate repair recommendations clearly to customers, explaining necessary services and options.
- Upsell additional maintenance or repair services based on vehicle diagnostics and customer needs.
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of services while maintaining quality standards.
- Manage service writing processes including invoicing and cash handling with accuracy.
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of automotive repair procedures and current industry trends to provide expert advice.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or background in auto service management preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and service writing is advantageous.
- Experience with a wide range of automotive repairs including transmissions, oil changes, alignments, suspension work, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, brake systems, air brakes, and auto body repairs.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
- Ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with sales skills such as automobile sales experience is a plus.
