Job Overview
Barry’s Chevrolet is seeking a dedicated and high-energy Automotive Service Manager to oversee our rapidly growing service department operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen sense of teamwork, and a comprehensive understanding of automotive service and repair processes. This role is crucial in ensuring customer satisfaction, managing service staff, and maintaining high-quality standards in automotive repairs.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality repairs.
- Manage and train service technicians on best practices of multipoint vehicle inspections, automotive repair, and customer service.
- Oversee service writing, to include creating detailed repair orders and estimates for customers.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and General Motors.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations within the workshop environment.
- Handle customer transactions accurately and maintain financial records related to service operations.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for team members, providing feedback and support for professional development.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and dealership practices to enhance service offerings.
Experience
Candidates should have a strong background in automotive service management or related fields, with the following skills preferred:
- Proficient knowledge of automotive service and repair techniques, including shocks struts, suspension systems, and diesel engine repair.
- Familiarity with dealership operations and customer relationship management is advantageous.
- Solid mechanical knowledge to effectively troubleshoot issues and guide technicians.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members alike.
- General Motors experience is preferred but not required.
