Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Automotive Parts Director to lead our parts department with energy and precision. Duties
- Develop and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies to ensure timely procurement and delivery of automotive parts, OEM components, and accessories.
- Manage supplier relationships to negotiate pricing, terms, and service levels that benefit the organization while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Oversee inventory control processes utilizing CDK / Reynolds systems and order management systems to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Lead warehouse management activities including shipping & receiving, storage optimization, forklift operations, and equipment repair coordination.
- Implement demand planning techniques to forecast parts needs accurately, reducing excess inventory while avoiding shortages.
- Coordinate with automotive diagnostics, repair teams, and dealership service departments to meet customer demands efficiently.
- Monitor procurement management activities ensuring compliance with industry standards such as OEM specifications and automotive repair requirements.
- Supervise logistics operations related to shipping & receiving, inventory movement, and order fulfillment across multiple locations.
- Utilize data entry skills for accurate record-keeping of inventory transactions, purchase orders, and supplier communications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes, pricing strategies, and sourcing options to maximize profitability.
- Ensure all team members are trained in safety protocols including HVAC maintenance, equipment repair, forklift operation, and warehouse safety standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in supply chain management within the automotive industry or dealership environment.
- Strong background in supplier management with a track record of successful negotiation and vendor relations.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, auto body repair processes, OEM parts sourcing, and automotive service operations.
- Hands-on experience with inventory management techniques including demand planning, inventory control, purchasing, and logistics coordination.
- Mechanical knowledge related to automotive equipment repair, HVAC systems maintenance, shipping & receiving procedures, and equipment operation such as forklifts.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a customer service-oriented environment.
