Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the automotive service department, ensuring smooth daily operations and high customer satisfaction.
- Supervise service technicians, mechanics, and support staff to maintain productivity, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance services including oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, tire services, transmissions, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs.
- Promote upselling of additional services and maintenance packages to maximize revenue while providing honest recommendations to customers.
- Handle service writing and auto estimating to accurately assess repair needs and communicate costs clearly to customers.
- Manage cash handling procedures and ensure all transactions are properly documented.
- Foster excellent customer service by addressing concerns promptly and ensuring a positive experience from start to finish.
- Maintain detailed records of all service activities, parts used, and repair orders for accountability and reporting purposes.
- Stay current with automotive industry trends, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques to uphold the highest standards of service quality.
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background in auto service management within a fast-paced automotive environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on mechanic experience preferred; familiar with automotive diagnostics across various systems including transmissions, suspensions, brakes, air conditioning, and diesel engines.
- Demonstrated ability in auto estimating software and service writing practices.
- Experience in upselling services while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, shocks & struts replacements, brake repairs, auto body work, and air brake systems.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
