We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dynamic dealership team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services, ensuring a seamless experience from intake to service completion. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to upsell additional services to meet customer needs while maintaining high levels of satisfaction. Prior dealership experience and familiarity with auto service management are highly valued.

Automotive Service Advisor Responsibilities

Greet customers professionally and listen carefully to their vehicle concerns
Explain recommended repairs and maintenance services clearly and accurately
Write detailed service orders and estimates, utilizing automotive diagnostics and repair knowledge
Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work
Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, brake repairs, suspension work, and transmission repairs when appropriate
Manage service writing tasks efficiently, including invoicing and parts ordering
Handle customer inquiries regarding vehicle status, repair options, and warranty coverage
Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including cash handling when necessary
Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and promote repeat business

Advisor Skills

Proven dealership experience or background in auto service management is preferred
Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures such as oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brake systems, auto body repair, and transmissions
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients
Ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity and customer trust
Experience with auto estimating software and service writing is highly desirable
Mechanical knowledge combined with sales skills to recommend appropriate vehicle maintenance solutions
Familiarity with automotive repair processes including tire service, oil changes, auto body work, and other routine maintenance tasks
Cash handling experience is a plus
