Overview
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our automotive dealership team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers needing vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring a seamless and positive service experience. This role requires strong automotive knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. Prior dealership experience and familiarity with auto service management are highly desirable to succeed in this position.
Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing rapport and understanding their vehicle concerns.
- Accurately document customer complaints and vehicle issues, utilizing service writing and auto estimating skills.
- Recommend necessary repairs or maintenance services based on diagnostics, including oil changes, brake repair, transmission work, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, alignment, air brake systems, and auto body repair.
- Upsell additional services or products that enhance vehicle performance and safety while maintaining integrity.
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services.
- Provide detailed explanations of repair procedures and costs to customers in clear terms.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper documentation of all service orders.
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and foster repeat business.
- Maintain knowledge of current automotive trends, repair techniques, and dealership offerings to provide expert advice.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Service Advisor or in auto service management within a dealership environment preferred.
- Strong automotive diagnostics knowledge along with mechanical understanding of vehicle maintenance and repairs such as oil changes, brake systems, transmissions, suspensions, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, alignments, air brakes, etc.
- Experience with auto estimating software and service writing is highly advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Sales aptitude with experience in upselling automotive services or automobile sales is beneficial.
- Mechanical experience or background as a mechanic or service technician enhances effectiveness in this role.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures including auto body work and specialized systems like transmissions or diesel engines is a plus. Pay: $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
