Position Summary
The Off Shift Plant Supervisor is responsible for overall leadership, coordination, and performance of the manufacturing site during assigned off shifts (2nd, nights, weekends). Ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operations across all departments including Press Room, Production Finishing, Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics.
Acts as the primary decision-maker on site, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are met while escalating critical issues as needed
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead and coordinate all production activities across departments during off shift
· Ensure achievement of production schedules and customer delivery requirements
· Monitor plant performance (output, downtime, scrap) and take corrective actions in real time
· Serve as escalation point for production, quality, maintenance, and staffing issues
· Provide leadership and direction to all shift supervisors, team leaders, and indirect staff
· Support staffing decisions including allocation and workforce balancing
· Address employee performance, attendance, and disciplinary actions as required
· Promote teamwork and effective communication across departments
· Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures
· Act as the responsible authority for incident response and initial investigation
· Enforce PPE, safe work practices, and regulatory requirements
· Compliant with ISO requirements per the training provided
· Ensure containment and proper handling of non-conforming product
· Verify that control plans and quality standards are followed across all areas
· Coordinate with maintenance for breakdown response and prioritization
· Ensure critical equipment issues are escalated appropriately
· Support decision-making on production continuation vs. downtime
· Provide detailed shift handover reports to day-shift leadership
· Communicate key issues, risks, and performance results
· Escalate critical issues to senior management when required
- Environmental responsibilities / apply 5S principles to the workplace
· Ensure accurate data entry and reporting in Plex (or ERP system)
Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
- 10+ years in manufacturing environment
- Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Experience in multi-department coordination preferred
- Automotive industry experience (IATF environment) is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, and kneel for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work safely around stamping press equipment
