Position Summary

The Auto Body Shop Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of parts operations within the collision repair facility. This includes ordering, receiving, inventory management, pricing, vendor relations, and ensuring timely availability of quality parts to support efficient repair operations. The Parts Manager plays a key role in maintaining profitability, workflow efficiency, and customer satisfaction by ensuring the right parts are in the right place at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of the parts department for the auto body shop.
Order and receive OEM, aftermarket, and recycled parts in coordination with estimators and technicians.
Verify accuracy of parts deliveries, inspect for damage, and handle returns or warranty claims.
Maintain organized and accurate inventory control systems (manual or digital).
Ensure parts are properly labeled, stored, and staged for each repair order.
Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with vendors and suppliers.
Monitor and control parts costs to support the shop’s profit goals.
Communicate regularly with the production team to ensure timely parts delivery and avoid delays.
Maintain accurate parts records for audits, billing, and insurance documentation.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, insurance partners, and internal staff.
Ensure compliance with all company policies and safety procedures.
Provide training, coaching, and supervision for any parts department staff.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years in auto body or automotive parts management.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of OEM, aftermarket, and recycled parts; familiarity with collision repair processes and estimating systems (CCC, Mitchell).
Skills:
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong communication and negotiation abilities
Proficiency with parts management software and Microsoft Office
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
