Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead the service department at our New Bedford location. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. As the Automotive Service Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the service department, ensuring that all work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards.

Duties

Manage and supervise a team of service technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure quality workmanship.
Oversee all aspects of automotive service operations, including brake repair, diesel engine repair, tire service, and general automotive maintenance.
Ensure that all services are performed in compliance with dealership standards and safety regulations.
Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of all financial activities within the service department.
Implement upselling strategies to promote additional services and products to customers.
Monitor inventory levels and order parts as necessary to ensure timely repairs.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, promoting safety and efficiency among staff.
Foster positive relationships with customers by addressing their concerns and providing exceptional service.

Experience

Proven experience as an Automotive Service Manager or in a similar role within a dealership environment.
Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and repair processes.
Experience with cash handling procedures and financial management within an automotive setting.
Familiarity with upselling techniques and sales strategies in the automotive industry.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
A background in managing service technicians is highly desirable.
