Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced automotive parts manager to manage our Parts Department and help take this fast-growing dealership to its next level of success.
In this position, you will utilize your professional experience to profitably operate a franchised import parts department, to manage your staff, and to manage your OEM inventory to provide parts and accessories to a busy shop as well as to wholesale and retail customers.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain an efficient and profitable parts operation using various computer systems and processes.
- Using the dealership’s DMS, develop systems for the effective stocking of parts.
- Develop processes and systems to minimize “at counter” time for technicians, helping them stay efficient and profitable.
- Maximize gross profit by effective ordering of parts to insure maximum parts return allowance.
- Understand and use of principles of pricing, availability, shipping, return and credit policies.
- Prepare stock orders and complete paperwork accurately and on time.
- Return parts appropriately and within manufacturer’s return policy guidelines.
- Maintain close control of departmental costs.
- Manage an efficient and profit-driven staff.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma.
- Five years minimum auto dealership parts experience, with at least two years as a manager.
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
- A proven track record, no bouncing from job to job.
- Knowledge of Dealertrack dealer management system a huge plus.
