Position Overview:
A Service Advisor initiates automotive services and repairs by communicating with customers to determine the requested maintenance. They verify warranty and service contract coverage; identify and inform customers of any additional vehicle maintenance or repair opportunities deemed valuable for maintaining vehicle safety and performance; develop estimates and secure commitments to perform the work; write repair orders and maintain customer rapport and records. The Service Advisor is a great opportunity to experience the day-to-day operations of the service department. Whether answering phone calls and emails or assisting service customers face-to-face, you'll be responsible for ensuring every customer has a positive, lasting experience.
Who You Are:
- You are Ford-certified and have knowledge of the manufacturer's warranty and claims process. Preferred, not required
- You have exceptional communication, organization, and follow-up skills that result in an outstanding customer experience
- You have the proven ability to set and achieve targeted goals
- You thrive on educating customers on proper care for their vehicles

- Meeting or exceeding productivity and service standards is a priority
- When under pressure, you maintain a positive attitude with customers, peers, and management
- You have 2+ years of service experience in an automotive dealership
Essential Functions:
- Greet each customer promptly a courteously, and let customers waiting in line know they will be served soon.
- Communicate with service customers to determine the nature of the mechanical problems
- Secure agreement from customers before repairs; cover cost estimate; and approximate time when the vehicle's work will be completed
- Obtain customer and vehicle data
- Schedule appointments using dealership-approved forms
- Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles by the manufacturer's specifications, using maintenance menus
- Communicate the need for additional work when needed; explain the details to the customer, including the extra cost and time consideration, and document properly on the repair order
- Follow up on the progress of each repair order during the day, and contact customers by telephone regarding changes in the estimate or time promised
- Handle telephone inquiries regarding work in process and appointments, and return phone messages promptly
- Interpret warranty information and policies for customers
- Advise customers of parts ordered and make an appointment to have them installed before the customer leaves
- Assist the service manager as necessary
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prior experience in the automotive industry (2+ years of dealership experience)
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a favorable motor vehicle record
- Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen for illegal substances
- Authorized to work in the United States
