Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marine Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as a vital link between our customers and service technicians, ensuring that all Marine service needs are accurately communicated and addressed. This role requires a strong understanding of Marine repair processes, including Outboard Engine service, Outboard Engine repair, and General boat part repairs, as well as excellent customer service skills. Training will be provided

Responsibilities

Greet customers promptly and professionally, assessing their Marine service needs.
Document customer concerns and relay information to service technicians for accurate diagnosis and repair.
Prepare detailed service estimates and communicate them clearly to customers.
Manage the scheduling of services to optimize workflow and customer satisfaction.
Follow up with customers regarding the status of their vessels during the service process.
Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
Ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed efficiently and accurately.
Provide exceptional customer service to foster long-term relationships with clients.
Stay updated on Marine repair trends and dealership practices to enhance service writing skills.

Qualifications

Previous experience in Marine repair or service writing is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of 4 Stroke Engine service, Engine repair, Boat repair, and general Boat repair processes is perferred but we are willing to train someone who has a similar knowledge of skills within a similar industry like automotive or RV.
Strong communication skills with the ability to transmit technical information clearly to customers.
Experience in service management or working within a dealership environment is a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively with service technicians and other team members.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Proficient in using computer systems for documentation and scheduling purposes.
A passion for the industry and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
