We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-driven Fixed Operations Director to oversee our high-volume domestic automotive service, parts, and collision operations.
As a key member of our executive leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall profitability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction of the fixed operations departments. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of domestic automotive operations, a proven track record of P&L management, and the leadership capability to foster a high-performance culture aligned with manufacturer standards.
Strategic & Financial Management: Direct the formulation of departmental budgets, forecasting, and financial goals. Monitor daily and monthly P&L statements to identify variances and implement corrective actions to maximize gross and net profit.
Operational Excellence: Optimize shop capacity, technician productivity, and service drive traffic flow. Oversee parts inventory management to ensure optimal turnover rates and minimize obsolescence.
Leadership & Staff Development: Recruit, train, mentor, and retain high-caliber service advisors, technicians, and department managers. Establish clear performance metrics and accountability structures.
Customer Experience & Retention: Maintain primary accountability for Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores. Ensure the team delivers an exceptional client experience and address escalated customer concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
Compliance & Factory Relations: Serve as the primary liaison with domestic manufacturer representatives (Ford, GM, or Stellantis). Ensure strict compliance with warranty procedures, safety regulations, EPA/OSHA standards, and facility guidelines.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of successful experience as a Fixed Operations Director or high-volume Service Director, preferably within a domestic dealership environment.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Automotive Marketing, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent executive-level automotive management experience.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of major Dealer Management Systems (DMS) such as CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or Dealertrack, alongside modern service lane and inventory optimization software.
Analytical Skills: Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze complex data, identify operational bottlenecks, and implement data-driven solutions.
Leadership Traits: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. A demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams toward unified corporate objectives.
