We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dealership Parts Manager to lead our parts department with enthusiasm and precision. In this vital role, you will oversee the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of automotive parts, ensuring seamless operations that support our dealership’s service and repair teams. Your expertise in supply chain management, supplier relations, and automotive diagnostics will drive efficiency, optimize costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. - Manage the entire parts inventory lifecycle, including ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution using advanced order management systems and ERP platforms.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) suppliers and other vendors to ensure timely sourcing of quality parts at competitive prices.
- Oversee procurement processes, including demand planning, pricing negotiations, and purchasing to maximize cost savings while maintaining optimal stock levels.
- Utilize warehouse management techniques and equipment such as forklifts to organize parts efficiently and ensure safety compliance in storage areas.
- Coordinate shipping & receiving activities to guarantee accurate and prompt delivery of parts to internal departments or external customers.
- Implement inventory control measures using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools to track stock levels, reduce waste, and prevent shortages.
- Support automotive service operations by providing mechanical knowledge on parts specifications and assisting with automotive diagnostics when needed.
- Lead a team of parts associates by providing training on inventory management, data entry accuracy, customer service excellence, and equipment repair procedures.
- Monitor supply chain performance metrics to identify areas for improvement in sourcing strategies or logistics processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to warehouse experience and equipment operation such as forklift handling. Qualifications
- Proven experience in dealership parts management or automotive supply chain roles with a strong understanding of OEM parts sourcing and inventory control systems.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, order management systems, AS400 platform or similar enterprise software is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, auto body repair processes, HVAC systems, and automotive repair procedures enhances effectiveness in this role.
- Strong negotiation skills for procurement management along with demand planning expertise to optimize inventory levels.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with experience in warehouse management or shipping & receiving operations.
- Ability to perform data entry accurately while managing large volumes of inventory data within CMMS or similar platforms.
- Excellent customer service skills to support internal teams and external clients effectively.
- Valid forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment safely is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
