Service Advisor Job Description
Maxi Auto Repair is preparing for expansion and looking for a service advisor with at least 5 years of experience. Ideal candidate would have aspirations to take a lead/manager role once learning how we operate. 80% of our work is mechanical repair and drivability. A mechanical background, or at least mechanical aptitude, is a must. Must be willing to learn and eager to grow, have passion for the automotive repair industry, and have good customer service skills. Must be focused on professional growth.
The Service Advisor is primarily responsible for customer relations and presenting inspections/diagnosis to the customer. The Service Advisor must be dedicated to the highest level of professionalism, employee and company development, and 100% customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to…
· Greets customer in a friendly and timely manner and answers phone in a friendly and timely manner
· Responsible for turning phone calls into appointments and in turn customer visits
· Gathers all information from customer about their visit. Asks questions as needed to ensure an accurate write up of the customer’s concern
· Responsible for communicating with the Service Manager to ensure the understanding of vehicle needs
· Responsible for properly communicating (not selling) the vehicle inspection and diagnosis to the customer and explaining the vehicle needs, while offering options to customer
· Responsible for coordinating with the Service Manager to set the proper expectation for vehicle completion times
· Responsible for ordering parts when work is approved and properly receiving them when they arrive
· Responsible for keeping customer informed during the inspection and repair process
· Responsible for all documentation on final repair order, contacting customer to notify of completion, and ensuring that customer has a clear understanding of repairs and pricing at closing
· Responsible for collecting payment. This includes accounts receivable
· Responsible for customer relationships and retention
· Ready to begin production at scheduled time/stay actively engaged in production while on clock
· Open or close the shop per opening/closing practices
· Must be willing to clean and keep shop organized when not actively engaged in work on a vehicle
· Must be willing to work on a team
· Must be willing to participate in on-going training

Candidates MUST have strong customer service and relationship building skills. Must have a desire to improve and grow. Must have prior experience as a service advisor. Aftermarket experience preferred, but will consider the right dealer advisor.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $67,000.00 - $83,000.00 per year
