Overview
The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the RV sales team, hitting monthly and annual volume/gross targets, and delivering a consistently excellent customer experience. This role oversees day‑to‑day showroom operations, inventory presentation, deal structuring, and coordination with finance to drive profitable growth.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the RV sales team (recruiting, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management) to achieve individual and store sales goals.
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets; track performance, hold sales meetings, and provide ongoing coaching to improve close rates and gross profit.
- Desk deals and support salespeople with pricing, trade valuations, deal structure, and closing, ensuring profitability while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Ensure every customer receives a professional, transparent, and stress‑free buying experience from first contact through delivery and follow‑up.
- Partner with the finance team to maximize finance, warranty, and protection product penetration while staying compliant with all regulations and lender requirements.
- Work with ownership and management to develop and execute sales strategies, promotions, and events that drive traffic (digital and walk‑in) and increase market share.
- Oversee inventory presentation: lot layout, online listings quality, photos and videos, and accurate descriptions for all new and used RVs.
- Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and pricing and adjust sales strategies and pricing guidance accordingly.
- Maintain strong relationships with OEM representatives, vendors, and lenders to leverage programs, incentives, and training opportunities.
- Review and analyze sales reports, KPIs, and CRM data (leads, appointments, show rates, close rates, gross, PVR) and present insights to ownership.
- Ensure compliance with dealership policies, state and federal regulations, and all documentation and contracting requirements.
- Handle customer escalations and work with the service and parts team to protect CSI and online reputation.
Qualifications
- Previous success in RV, automotive, marine, or powersports sales management or senior‑level sales role with a track record of hitting volume and gross targets.
- Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate a high‑performing sales team in a commission‑based environment.
- Strong understanding of the RV sales process, F&I products, and trade‑in valuation, or the ability to learn quickly.
- Comfortable using CRM software, digital retailing tools, and online lead management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution skills with a customer‑first mindset.
- Organized, data‑driven, and able to manage multiple deals and tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to move units on the lot as needed.
Performance metrics
- Monthly and annual unit sales and front‑end and back‑end gross.
- Lead response time, appointment set and show rates, and closing ratios.
- Online reviews, and repeat and referral business.
- Sales team productivity (units and gross per salesperson) and turnover.
Work schedule and compensation
- Full‑time, on‑site role with weekend and some evening hours required during peak seasons.
- Compensation: base salary plus performance‑based commissions and bonuses tied to department volume and gross.
- Benefits may include health insurance, paid time off, and demo or RV‑use privileges, as determined by dealership policy.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
