Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Clearly explain service recommendations, estimates, and repair procedures to customers with transparency and confidence
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, ensuring timely completion of services such as oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, tire services, transmission repairs, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, and auto body repairs
- Upsell additional services and maintenance packages that enhance vehicle performance and safety while meeting customer needs
- Manage service writing duties accurately using automotive estimating software; prepare detailed invoices and work orders
- Handle cash transactions securely and maintain precise records of all customer interactions and payments
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, air brake systems, auto estimating procedures, and current industry standards to provide expert guidance
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or background in auto service management is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, alignments, suspension work, tire service, diesel engines, shocks & struts, and auto body repair
- Hands-on mechanic experience or familiarity with automotive diagnostics enhances ability to communicate effectively with technicians and customers
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse clientele
- Experience in auto estimating software and service writing ensures accurate documentation and billing
- Knowledge of automotive sales principles is a plus for promoting vehicle upgrades or new sales opportunities
- Ability to handle cash transactions responsibly while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy
