Job description:
Premier Marine is seeking an experienced Marine Service Writer to join our team.
We are looking for a knowledgeable, customer-focused professional with boat/marine industry experience who can effectively communicate between our customers and service technicians. The ideal candidate understands marine repairs, enjoys working with boat owners, and can manage service requests from check-in through completion.
Responsibilities
- Meet with customers to discuss boat service and repair needs
- Create accurate repair orders, estimates, and invoices
- Document customer concerns and communicate details clearly to technicians
- Review technician findings with customers and explain recommended repairs
- Provide updates on repair status, timelines, and approvals
- Schedule service appointments and coordinate workflow with the shop team
- Assist with warranty documentation and service records
- Maintain accurate customer and boat information
- Deliver a high level of customer service throughout the repair process
Requirements
- Previous marine/boat service experience required
- Experience as a marine service writer, service advisor, technician, or dealership representative preferred
- Strong understanding of boat systems, maintenance, and common marine repairs
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to understand technical information and explain it clearly to customers
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple jobs in a fast-paced service environment
- Experience with marine dealership/service management software is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with inboard/outboard engines, boat rigging, electronics, and general marine systems
- Familiarity with marine manufacturers, parts, and warranty processes
- Passion for boating and the marine industry
