Role Description The General Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in Tuscaloosa, AL. This role is responsible for leading the sales department, setting sales goals, and overseeing daily operations of the showroom and sales team. The General Sales Manager will train, coach, and mentor sales staff, monitor performance, and implement sales processes that support customer satisfaction and revenue growth. Key responsibilities include managing inventory and pricing strategies, coordinating with the finance and service departments, reviewing sales reports, and adjusting tactics to meet monthly and quarterly targets. The role also includes participating in local marketing initiatives, handling escalated customer issues, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in automotive sales management or a similar leadership role within retail or dealership environments.
- Strong skills in team leadership, coaching, performance management, and motivating sales professionals.
- Ability to analyze sales data, set realistic targets, and develop strategies to achieve and exceed goals.
- Excellent customer service, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with a focus on long-term customer loyalty.
- Solid understanding of dealership operations, inventory management, finance and insurance processes, and sales compliance.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Proficiency with dealership management software, CRM tools, and basic office applications.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to creating an inclusive, non-discriminatory workplace.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience in sales leadership will be considered.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for dealership operations.
