Automotive F&I Manager – Used Car Dealership
Location: Westbury, NY
Compensation: $100,000–$200,000+ Annual Earning Potential

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and results-driven Automotive Finance & Insurance (F&I) Manager to join our new used-car dealership in Westbury, NY.
This is a 100% performance-based compensation position with no base salary. We are looking for an experienced F&I professional who knows how to structure deals, work effectively with lenders, maximize F&I production, maintain strong product penetration, and provide an excellent customer experience.
The ideal candidate is a proven automotive F&I producer who is organized, competitive, professional, compliance-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete F&I process from sales turnover through contracting and vehicle delivery.
- Secure financing for customers through banks, credit unions, finance companies, and other approved lending partners.
- Submit credit applications and work lender callbacks efficiently.
- Structure deals to maximize approvals while maintaining dealership profitability.
- Negotiate with lenders to obtain competitive approvals, terms, and advances.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with lending partners.
- Present financing options to customers clearly and professionally.
- Present and sell F&I products, including vehicle service contracts, GAP coverage, protection products, and other dealership-approved products.
- Maximize F&I gross profit per retail unit while maintaining a professional and compliant sales process.
- Maintain strong finance, service contract, GAP, and ancillary product penetration.
- Work closely with the General Manager and Sales Manager to structure deals and resolve financing challenges.
- Handle prime and non-prime credit customers and identify appropriate financing solutions.
- Review all deals prior to delivery to ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
- Ensure contracts and funding packages are submitted promptly and correctly.
- Monitor contracts in transit and resolve outstanding funding issues.
- Minimize funding delays, chargebacks, contract errors, and unwinds.
- Maintain accurate deal jackets and F&I records.
- Ensure required signatures, disclosures, and supporting documentation are completed prior to delivery.
- Explain financing terms, contracts, and optional products clearly to customers.
- Maintain confidentiality and properly safeguard customer financial and personal information.
- Stay current on lender programs, rates, guidelines, and available financing opportunities.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the finance process.
Compliance Responsibilities
- Ensure all F&I transactions comply with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
- Follow dealership policies and procedures regarding credit applications, disclosures, contracts, privacy, and customer information.
- Maintain consistent and compliant presentation of F&I products.
- Ensure all required documentation and disclosures are completed accurately.
- Maintain strong documentation and deal-file standards.
- Work with dealership management to maintain a professional and compliance-focused F&I department.
Qualifications
- Previous automotive F&I Manager experience required.
- Previous franchise dealership experience preferred.
- Used-car dealership F&I experience strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of strong F&I production and gross-profit performance.
- Strong experience working with automotive lenders.
- Experience working with both prime and non-prime credit customers preferred.
- Strong understanding of automotive lending, credit applications, deal structure, lender guidelines, and funding requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to produce strong F&I gross per retail unit.
- Demonstrated success with finance and product penetration.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle service contracts, GAP, and other automotive protection products.
- Excellent closing, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong understanding of F&I compliance and documentation requirements.
- Comfortable working with dealership DMS, CRM, lender portals, and electronic contracting systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by dealership operations.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

$100,000–$200,000+ Annual Earning Potential

Compensation is based on factors including:
- F&I gross profit production
- Gross profit per retail unit (PVR)
- Finance penetration
- Vehicle service contract penetration
- GAP and ancillary product penetration
- Deal quality and funding performance
- Compliance and documentation standards
- Chargeback performance
This compensation structure is designed to provide significant earning potential for experienced, high-performing F&I professionals.
Expected annual earnings: $100,000–$200,000+, based on performance.

The ideal candidate is a proven automotive F&I producer who understands how to maximize every legitimate opportunity within a deal while maintaining a professional, transparent, and compliant customer experience.
You should be comfortable taking deals from turnover through funding, communicating and negotiating with lenders, obtaining approvals, presenting financing and protection options, overcoming objections, maintaining strong PVR and product penetration, and ensuring contracts are funded quickly and accurately.
