Automotive District Manager — Multi-Location Operations
BFL Stop & Go Car Care — Home of Brakes For Less
Mobile, Alabama
Full-Time | W-2 Leadership Position
Performance-Based Compensation | $100,000+ Earning Potential
WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO SIMPLY VISIT STORES.
We are looking for an experienced automotive operator who can develop managers, improve underperforming locations, protect company standards and build the leadership infrastructure required for significant growth.
BFL Stop & Go Car Care is a family-owned automotive company with roots dating back to 1972. We currently operate across Alabama, Louisiana and South Carolina, with a goal of growing to 75 locations over the next five years.
That growth will require more than additional buildings. It will require exceptional leaders capable of building strong managers, accountable teams and consistently profitable stores.
This position will be based in Mobile, Alabama, with regular travel to assigned BFL locations.
THE ROLE
The District Manager will be responsible for the performance, leadership and operational execution of multiple automotive repair locations.
You will not manage every store from a distance through reports alone. You will know the people, understand the numbers, visit the stores, identify the real constraint and ensure the responsible leader owns the solution.
Your job is to build managers who can build teams and operate successful stores without depending on constant rescue from senior leadership.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Multi-Location Performance
- Take ownership of sales, profitability, payroll, productivity and customer experience across assigned locations
- Review store scorecards and identify the most important performance constraints
- Build corrective plans with clear owners, deadlines and measurable outcomes
- Ensure locations produce enough revenue to support healthy staffing and operations
- Hold managers accountable for commitments and results
Manager Development
- Recruit, evaluate, train and develop store-level leaders
- Distinguish between someone who can complete tasks and someone who can truly lead
- Teach managers how to think independently, prioritize correctly and solve problems
- Conduct direct coaching and performance conversations
- Build succession plans so locations are not dependent on one exhausted individual
Sales and Customer Experience
- Maintain strong phone conversion, appointment-setting and customer follow-up
- Ensure legitimate inspection findings are presented completely and professionally
- Coach managers and service advisors on building trust, communicating value and asking for the business
- Protect ethical sales practices and customer relationships
- Monitor repair-order averages, car count, declined work and customer satisfaction
Shop Operations
- Ensure every vehicle receives a properly completed and documented inspection
- Hold stores accountable for quality control and comeback prevention
- Improve workflow between technicians, advisors and managers
- Monitor technician productivity and bay utilization
- Ensure parts returns, vendor credits, inventory controls and operational deadlines are completed correctly
Leadership and Culture
- Create clarity where there is confusion
- Build systems where there is repeated chaos
- Address weak performance instead of allowing it to become normal
- Recognize strong performers and develop people with greater potential
- Protect a culture of ownership, urgency, honesty, communication and accountability
- Hold the same standard across every store, regardless of distance
WHAT WINNING LOOKS LIKE
A successful District Manager will produce:
- Strong, independently operating store managers
- Consistent execution of the BFL operating standard
- Improved sales and profitability
- Healthy payroll and productivity
- Complete vehicle inspections
- Strong phone and sales performance
- Reduced comebacks and operational mistakes
- Better hiring and employee retention
- Clear accountability at every level
- Stores that continue performing when the District Manager leaves the building
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
This opportunity is intended for an experienced automotive leader—not someone looking for their first management position.
Strong candidates should have:
- Significant automotive service management experience
- Multi-location or district-level leadership experience
- A proven history of improving automotive store performance
- Experience managing sales, payroll, productivity and profitability
- Experience recruiting and developing store managers
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair-shop operations
- The ability to read financial and operational performance reports
- The willingness to travel regularly between locations
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- The ability to communicate directly, coach effectively and hold people accountable
Ten or more years of automotive management experience is strongly preferred.
THE PERSON WHO WILL THRIVE HERE
You may be the right person if:
- You naturally take ownership of the final result
- You know how to find the real constraint inside a struggling store
- You can confront problems without creating unnecessary drama
- You develop leaders instead of creating followers
- You understand that activity and results are not the same thing
- You can balance urgency with sound judgment
- You are comfortable being measured
- You want to help build something larger than one location
- You have ambitions beyond maintaining the status quo
This will not be the right position for someone who wants to collect reports, conduct occasional store visits and explain why results did not happen.
COMPENSATION AND OPPORTUNITY
This is a performance-driven leadership opportunity with earning potential exceeding $100,000 for exceptional results.
Final compensation will depend on experience, demonstrated ability, assigned responsibilities, performance expectations and the final compensation plan.
As BFL grows, this position may create opportunities for broader operational leadership and potential future franchise ownership. Advancement and ownership opportunities are earned and remain subject to qualifications, performance, business needs and separate franchise requirements.
