Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive service management, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the efficient operation of our service team. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring high-quality automotive repair and maintenance services.
- Manage and mentor service technicians, providing guidance on automotive diagnostics, repairs, and customer interactions.
- Implement effective upselling strategies to enhance service sales and improve overall profitability.
- Coordinate with customers to understand their vehicle issues and provide accurate auto estimating for necessary repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized service area while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain records of services performed.
- Foster positive relationships with customers by delivering outstanding customer service and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Monitor inventory levels for parts and supplies, placing orders as needed to ensure timely service delivery.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in automotive repair and service management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in auto service management or a similar role within a dealership environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair, including transmissions, brake repair, oil changes, alignment, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repair.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.
- Experience in sales and upselling techniques within the automotive industry is preferred.
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics and familiarity with various vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures and basic accounting principles related to dealership operations.
