Job Responsibilities

· Prepares a complete financial statement monthly according to dealership guidelines and within each manufacturer's format and time frame

· Ensure that all manufacturer accounts, including warranty claims, rebates, interest protection and co-op advertising are current and accurate

· Interpret the financial statement and the daily operating control (DOC) regularly and inform dealer of developing trends.

· Participate in the preparation of short- and long-term financial forecasts for the dealership.

· Provide department managers with detailed financial and management reports.

· Review the general ledger and schedule of accounts. Note any unusual entries and investigate if necessary. This also includes expense trend analysis.

· Review the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with outside sources to ensure proper recording of/to reserve accounts, factory payable, and floor plan payable.

· Participate with the annual audit (or review) of the books and ensure a vehicle physical inventory is completed.

· Complete month end duties to remain in compliance with standard reporting guidelines (including items such as GAAP)

· Work extensively on projects assigned

Pay Range.

$130,000-$150,000 per year all compensation elements included.

Required Experience

· Prior accounting/controller experience required

· Prior experience working in an accounting function in an auto dealership setting preferred

· Strong knowledge of accounting principles

· Track record of Maintaining professional growth and development through self-directed learning activities and involvement in professional organizations

· Encourages a high work ethic by demonstrating appropriate and acceptable behavioral skills

· Ability to professionally complete assigned tasks promptly

· Experience in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel), as well as dealership accounting software and DMS systems
