Our brand-new, state-of-the-art BMW dealership in Long Island City, NY, is seeking an experienced Parts Manager to lead our Parts Department. This role is responsible for overseeing inventory management, staff performance, purchasing, profitability, and departmental workflow while maintaining the highest standards of customer service and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with extensive dealership parts experience, strong inventory control skills, and the ability to build a high-performing team in a fast-paced luxury environment.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and evaluate all parts department employees.
- Maintain professional appearance and cultivate a customer-first culture.
- Ensure high-quality service is provided to external customers and internal departments (Service, Sales).
- Forecast, prepare, and administer the annual operating budget and departmental goals.
- Monitor sales, gross profit, expenses, and inventory performance monthly to maintain profit objectives.
- Maintain a balanced inventory to support Service, wholesale accounts, and retail customers
- Establish inventory levels that maximize turnover and minimize obsolescence.
- Ensure proper tagging of all parts to secure full credit from the factory.
- Supervise stock order procedures and enforce policies for special-order parts.
- Develop and administer an aggressive wholesale parts program.
- Create and execute sales promotions and utilize OEM co-op advertising programs.
- Oversee shipping, receiving, and proper storage layout for maximum efficiency.
- Maintain strong customer satisfaction by enforcing guidelines for exceptional service.
- Handle customer complaints promptly and in accordance with dealership policies.
- Enforce all safety standards, including OSHA, MSDS compliance, and forklift training requirements.
- Maintain clean and organized parts warehouse and workspace areas.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to parts operations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of dealer parts management experience (BMW Preferred).
- Strong knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, and wholesale programs.
- CDK experience required .
- Proven leadership ability and staff development experience.
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of departmental KPIs.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
