Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Automotive Service Director to lead our service department with energy, expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of the automotive service department, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimization to maximize productivity.
- Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance services such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, alignments, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs.
- Ensure technicians perform high-quality work adhering to safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Develop and implement effective upselling strategies to enhance revenue while maintaining customer trust and satisfaction.
- Maintain excellent customer service by addressing concerns promptly, providing transparent service writing and estimates, and ensuring positive interactions throughout the service experience.
- Monitor dealership metrics related to service sales, gross profit margins, technician productivity, and customer satisfaction scores.
- Manage cash handling procedures accurately and ensure compliance with all financial policies.
- Stay current with automotive industry trends, new technologies, and repair techniques to continuously improve department performance.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Skilled in auto estimating software and service writing to generate accurate repair orders.
- Excellent leadership abilities with experience managing a team of technicians and service advisors.
- Strong sales acumen with the ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity.
- Deep understanding of automotive systems including transmissions, oil changes, alignments, suspensions, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, brake systems, air brakes, and auto body repair.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on building long-term client relationships.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining compliance with financial policies.
- Mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on mechanic experience or technician background is highly desirable.
