Your High-Impact Responsibilities
As the Shop Manager, you will be the engine driving service department efficiency and profitability.
Operational Leadership & Efficiency
- Maximize Throughput: Oversee the day-to-day service operations, efficiently utilizing our CRM to schedule, distribute, and manage the flow of work orders for technicians and yard team.
- Precision Quoting: Prepare accurate repair cost estimates and itemized work orders (parts and labor) for customer approval, ensuring transparency and competitive pricing.
- Process Optimization: Utilize manufacturer flat rate guides and Standard Service Operations (SSO’s) to set time allotments, monitor workflow, and ensure timely completion of all work.
- Quality Control: Guarantee detailed and accurate Complaint, Cause, and Correction documentation is noted in every work order.
Profit & Growth Generation
- P&L Ownership: Drive continuous financial growth of the department, manage expenses, and consistently achieve department profitability targets.
- Revenue Expansion: Proactively and professionally promote the sale of additional high-margin labor services, parts, and accessories to every customer.
- Inventory Strategy: Manage parts and supplies ordering and inventory levels using company software to ensure optimal stock, minimize downtime, and control costs.
Team Development & Mentorship
- Team Performance: Maintain production reports, verify technician production, and ensure seamless reporting to payroll.
- Technical Excellence: Coordinate and facilitate technical and product knowledge training, providing critical technical assistance to elevate the service team’s skill set.
What You Bring (The Requirements)
- Marine Industry Expertise (Required): Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Marine Industry. You need to speak the language.
- Growth Mindset: Proven track record in sales, project management, or roles that demanded an eye for efficiency, optimization, and revenue generation.
- Inspirational Leadership: Strong, motivating leadership skills with the ability to inspire a team toward ambitious production and service goals.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a history of utilizing CRM/inventory management software.
- Ready to Engage: Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to travel occasionally within the designated district.
