Sales Director – McDonald Nissan
Highlands Ranch, Colorado
Doing Right Comes Naturally
We’re a 4th-generation, family-owned automotive dealer group based in Denver. We’ve been here a long time for one reason: we run a disciplined business, we treat people right, and we hold ourselves to high standards. That’s not marketing copy, it’s how we operate.
We’re looking for an A-player sales leader who believes great teams are built, not managed—and who is willing to lead from the front, not from an office.
While the role is posted as General Manager—the title most familiar within the automotive industry—our structure differs from the traditional dealership model. This position, Toyota Greeley Director, leads the entire variable operation, while fixed operations are led separately. The structure is intentional: it allows our sales leader to stay fully focused on building a high-performing team while operating at the analytical forefront of the business—understanding reporting and performance metrics, and using those insights to lead, coach, and drive the changes needed to meet expectations.
This role is hands-on, visible, and accountable. Success requires someone who can both run a highly analytical sales operation and lead from the front—coaching on the floor, developing people, and setting the standard for performance every day.
What We’re Looking For:
- The ideal candidate will have an existing positive leadership-based relationship with Nissan.
- A track record of building teams, not just hitting numbers.
- Strong business acumen paired with emotional intelligence.
- High personal standards, strong work ethic, and zero tolerance for mediocrity.
- Alignment with our belief that doing the right thing is non-negotiable.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Building, developing, and retaining a high-performance sales team.
- Setting clear expectations, coaching in real time, and holding people accountable—consistently
- Driving operational excellence across new and pre-owned sales.
- Translating strategy into daily execution on the showroom floor and in the service drive.
- Creating a culture where high standards are the norm and high performance is rewarded.
- Protecting and strengthening a long-standing family-owned brand built on trust and integrity.
- Maintaining an excellent partnership with Nissan.
How You’ll Lead:
- You are present. Your team sees you, hears you, and feels your leadership.
- You coach, train, and develop—especially when it’s uncomfortable.
- You don’t pass the buck, blame the market, or hide behind excuses.
- You set the bar high and help your people clear it
- You believe culture is built through actions, not posters on the wall
What We Offer:
- Competitive compensation tied directly to performance.
- Significant upside for leaders who deliver results the right way.
- Long-term opportunity with a stable, growing, family-owned organization.
- A leadership team that values accountability, trust, and development.
- The chance to leave a real legacy—not just fill a role.
- Competitive 401k / 401k matching
- Medical / Dental / Vision Insurance
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - free, confidential counseling
- PTO Accrual
- Health Savings Account
- Flexible Spending Account
- Voluntary Life and AD&D
- Employee Discounted Pricing on Parts, Vehicles, and Service
Our Belief System:
We believe in:
- High standards and high rewards
- Accountability with respect
- Coaching over criticism
- Long-term thinking over short-term wins
If you’re an A-player who wants to build something meaningful, lead people the right way, and be rewarded for excellence—this is worth a conversation.
If not, that’s okay too. We’re selective by design. At McDonald, we believe that exceptional experiences start with exceptional people. Many of our team members have spent decades with us, growing their careers and eventually retiring as part of the McDonald legacy. We're proud to attract driven, motivated individuals who are passionate about their work and dedicated to building lasting relationships. It’s not just about the work we do—it’s about the family we build along the way.
