JOB DESCRIPTION
Advanced Transmission Center is hiring a hands-on Automotive Service & Facility Manager for our Westminster location.
ATC is celebrating its 40th anniversary and is part of Relay Hill Auto Group, a family-owned automotive repair organization that is currently 7 stores strong and continuing to grow. ATC’s Lakewood and Westminster shops are also the only AAA-approved transmission repair facilities in Colorado.
Expected compensation is $80,000-$120,000 annually, with the opportunity to earn more based on shop performance. This is a Monday-Friday role with no weekends and real career growth potential within a growing 7-store automotive group.
This is a serious career opportunity for an experienced automotive service professional who wants more than a service advisor job. The right person will sell the work, lead the crew, manage workflow, and help run one of Colorado’s most respected transmission and driveline repair facilities.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Relay Hill Auto Group is growing with a clear purpose: a group of strong local automotive repair shops with high standards, strong leadership, and real opportunity for people who perform.
A high-performing Facility Manager at ATC can build a long-term career within the brand and the larger organization. This is a leadership role with real responsibility, visibility, and genuine growth potential.
Advanced Transmission Center has served Colorado drivers since 1986. We specialize in transmission, driveline, differential, transfer case, and related automotive repair.
We are a specialty shop, but transmission experience is not required. A strong independent automotive repair background is required. We can teach our process and our specialty, but the right candidate must already understand automotive repair, customer communication, sales, workflow, and shop accountability.
OUR CORE VALUES
Our core values guide how we sell, manage, lead, and treat people.
Character - integrity is contagious
Results - focus on excellence
Team - a team achieves more
Development - stay hungry and improve yourself
People - progress comes from empowerment
These values matter in this role. We expect our managers to sell with integrity, produce results, lead the team, keep improving, and empower the people around them.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a working leadership role at the center of a busy independent automotive repair shop. You are the primary customer contact, service advisor, estimator, parts coordinator, workflow manager, and day-to-day shop leader.
The Facility Manager is the hub of the shop. You handle customers, estimates, sales, parts, and technician workflow independently, and you take ownership of the results.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include:
Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments
Handle customer drop-offs and open repair orders
Manage approximately 20-30 phone calls per day
Manage approximately 20-30 vehicle inspections/TrueTests per week
Present inspection findings and repair recommendations to customers
Build estimates in Tekmetric
Use ProDemand and other tools to determine labor times and repair information
Sell approved repair work, including major transmission and driveline repairs
Handle customer objections in a direct, professional, and trust-based way
Order parts and coordinate parts availability
Assign work and manage workflow for 3 R&R technicians and 1 builder
Keep customers updated throughout the repair process
Close repair orders and assist with front counter/admin duties
Work with the General Manager on technician coaching, accountability, hiring, and discipline
Track shop performance and help protect revenue, gross profit, customer satisfaction, and workflow
This role requires organization, confidence, automotive knowledge, sales ability, and leadership.
OUR SALES STYLE
We sell high-dollar repairs by being clear, educational, direct, and honest. Our approach is trust-based, never pressure-driven, but never passive either.
The right manager must be able to explain a several-thousand-dollar repair, answer objections, ask for approval, and earn the customer’s trust. Sometimes the right answer is telling a customer their vehicle is not worth repairing. We expect our managers to protect the customer, the shop, and the reputation of the company.
QUALIFICATIONS
A strong candidate will have:
Automotive repair experience
Prior automotive service management, shop management, or lead service advisor experience
Experience selling major automotive repairs
Independent repair shop experience strongly preferred
Transmission or driveline experience helpful, but not required
Strong customer service and communication skills
The confidence and professionalism to earn customer trust
The ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate technicians
Strong organizational skills
Good computer skills, including email, data entry, basic spreadsheets, shop management software, and parts/repair information systems
A valid driver’s license
A stable work history and a record of taking ownership in prior roles
This role is best for someone motivated by performance-based compensation who takes ownership of results and understands that strong income comes from strong follow-up, clear communication, accurate estimates, earned customer trust, and excellent shop performance.
YOU WILL THRIVE HERE IF YOU:
Operate independently and own the front counter without needing heavy administrative backup
Take full responsibility for the customer experience, including presenting and closing high-dollar repairs
Are confident walking a customer through a multi-thousand-dollar repair recommendation
Want your compensation tied to results and take pride in shop performance numbers
Naturally keep technicians organized and productive throughout the day
Thrive in a lean, independent shop environment where you wear multiple hats
Are coachable, performance-minded, and motivated by continuous improvement
COMPENSATION DETAILS
Expected annual compensation range is $80,000-$120,000, with the opportunity to exceed that range based on shop performance.
Compensation is performance-based and includes weekly commission tied to shop gross revenue plus a monthly bonus tied to gross profit. Compensation is paid in compliance with applicable Colorado wage laws.
The General Manager is actively involved during the transition period to train on ATC’s process, support sales flow, and help protect shop performance while the new manager comes up to speed.
