Overview
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Dealership Service Advisor to join our dynamic automotive team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers needing vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring a seamless service experience. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage service operations efficiently. Previous dealership experience and familiarity with auto service management are highly valued. The Service Advisor will coordinate repairs, provide estimates, and promote additional services to enhance customer satisfaction and dealership profitability.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing rapport and understanding their vehicle concerns
- Explain service recommendations clearly, including necessary repairs such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, suspension work, transmissions, diesel engine repairs, and more
- Prepare accurate auto estimates using automotive diagnostics tools and service writing software
- Upsell additional maintenance or repair services based on vehicle needs and manufacturer recommendations
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services
- Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately
- Maintain detailed records of service orders, customer interactions, and vehicle history
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns
- Stay informed about new automotive technologies, repair procedures, and dealership promotions
Requirements
- Prior dealership experience or auto service management background preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Experience with auto estimating software and service writing systems is advantageous
- Familiarity with a wide range of automotive repairs including oil changes, brake repair, alignments, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brakes, auto body repair, and transmissions
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients
- Sales aptitude with experience in upselling services or automobile sales is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge or mechanic experience enhances ability to understand technician reports and communicate effectively with customers
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple service orders simultaneously
