Mike Calvert Toyota is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Director to lead one of the most active and high-performing Toyota service departments in Texas.

Service Department Overview
This is a large, high-performing service operation with substantial growth opportunity:
- 6,500–7,000 repair orders per month
- 4,000–4,500 customer-pay repair orders monthly
- Over $2 million in combined monthly parts and labor gross
- Service department team of 110+ employees
- Multiple service advisors, shop foremen, dispatch support, and experienced technicians
This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment where strong leadership, operational discipline, and a commitment to developing people are critical to continued success.
Key Responsibilities
The Service Director will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the entire service department, ensuring performance, profitability, and exceptional customer experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage a 110+ member service department, including service managers, advisors, technicians, and support staff
- Oversee daily operations for a high-volume service department producing 6,500–7,000 repair orders monthly
- Drive continued growth in customer-pay repair orders, service revenue, and overall department performance
- Manage shop workflow, technician dispatching, warranty administration, and quality control processes
- Monitor and improve department KPIs including productivity, efficiency, labor gross profit, and effective labor rate
- Maintain exceptional customer satisfaction and retention through strong service processes and advisor leadership
- Recruit, develop, and retain top-performing service advisors, technicians, and service leaders
- Lead ongoing advisor training focused on improving write-ups, communication, and customer experience
- Support technician development through training initiatives, mentorship, and technical school partnerships
- Ensure compliance with Toyota standards, dealership policies, and safety regulations
- Maintain strong operational structure, accountability, and performance standards across the service department
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be an experienced automotive service leader with a strong background in high-volume dealership operations.
Preferred qualifications include:
- 5–7+ years of automotive service department leadership experience
- Previous experience as a Service Director or high-volume Service Manager
- Demonstrated success managing large dealership service teams
- Proven ability to drive customer-pay growth, technician productivity, and service profitability
- Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze and manage service department KPIs
- Deep understanding of dealership service workflow, dispatching, warranty operations, and advisor performance
- Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds preferred
- Professional leadership style with a strong customer-focused mindset
