Position Overview
We’re hiring a Sales Manager with proven desking experience to lead the daily sales process, structure deals, and drive performance. This role is hands-on: you will desk deals, support the sales team on the floor, coach to process, and collaborate across departments to ensure clean, fundable deals and an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Desk and structure deals to dealership guidelines, maximizing profitability and approvals while maintaining a customer-friendly experience
- Work deals from start to finish, including lender submissions, trade evaluation support, and payment/options presentation guidance
- Lead the sales floor: close customers, overcome objections, and support the team through delivery
- Coach, train, and develop Sales Consultants on process, presentation, follow-up, and negotiation fundamentals
- Maintain accountability to daily/weekly performance metrics (appointments, show rates, closing ratio, gross, units, CSI)
- Ensure accurate documentation and deal jackets; partner with F&I to maintain smooth handoffs and funding-ready paperwork
- Manage inventory strategy with leadership (pricing, merchandising priorities, aging unit action plans)
- Enforce CRM discipline and consistent follow-up standards to improve lead conversion and customer experience
- Maintain compliance with dealership policies and applicable state/federal requirements
Qualifications
- 2+ years in an automotive Sales Manager/Desk Manager role (desking experience is required)
- Demonstrated ability to structure deals, coach a team, and drive consistent production
- Strong understanding of pay plans, grosses, lender expectations, and deal flow from write-up to delivery
- Confident closer with professional communication and leadership presence
- Working knowledge of CRM tools and modern retail processes (phone, internet, showroom)
- High integrity, strong work ethic, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
