Regester Chevrolet in Thompsontown, PA is seeking a leader, coach, and full team player in store operations, as our GM of 33 years is retiring. We are a 4th generation, family-owned and operated dealership, successfully in business for over 94 years. Regester Chevrolet is a high-volume store with an expanding service department, as 10 more service bays will be added within the next 1-2 months.
We are not your traditional dealership. Customers are not pressured to buy, whether in sales or service, we offer a No-Friction sales process and are extremely customer service-oriented with a focus on the customer having a good overall experience.
We are seeking an experienced General Manager with a minimum of 5-10+ years in the role. However, if you are a highly experienced and motivated General Sales Manager or Sales Manager with at least 8-12+ years experience, well-rounded in dealership operations, seeking an opportunity to advance your career, please apply!
Requirements / Our Ideal Candidate:
- 5-10+ years General Manager Experience is Preferred (whether in an Automotive, RV, Marine/Boat, Powersports or Motorcycle Dealership)
- Will consider a General Sales Manager or Sales Manager with 8-12+ years Experience
- FRANCHISE/New Car Dealership GM, GSM, SM Experience is Preferred
- Prior Experience with managing a staff of 55-65, either large or small (This store will grow as the service department is expanding soon)
- Ideally Experience in both the Variable & Fixed Operations of a Dealership (This is an all-encompassing position, overseeing all aspects of the store)
- MUST be someone who will be Hands-On with ALL Departments
- Must be a STRONG Customer Service focused individual, as our Dealership is not a traditional dealer (We offer a no-friction sales process)
- Excellent Communication Skills- both verbal and written

- Ability to Train and Coach Personnel
- Strong analytical skills & Excellent Problem-Solving Skills
- Good Organizational Skills & a Strong attention to detail
Responsibilities Include:
- Hiring, training and motivating all dealership department managers.
- Directing and monitoring all dealership management or supervisory personnel functions and completing formal performance evaluations of all department managers at regularly scheduled intervals.
- Planning dealership operations for the coming year and submitting to the dealer for approval.
- Meeting with the owner and comptroller/office manager monthly to review departmental forecasts for consistency with the annual forecast.
- Meeting with managers individually to develop monthly and annual goals and objectives, and to review actual performance.
- Monitoring the daily operating control (DOC), recommending improved courses of action where necessary.
- Developing and maintaining a good working relationship with lending institutions and manufacturer personnel.
- Holding regularly scheduled managers' meetings to ensure that every department is operating efficiently and profitably.
- Reviewing and approving compensation plans for all employees.
- Coordinating with the business office to ensure that records and analyses are maintained accurately.
- Developing merchandising strategies and assisting in creating effective, cost-efficient advertising programs.
- Attending all manufacturer meetings on the dealer's behalf.
- Other tasks as assigned.
