Automotive Service Director Responsibilities:
- Assesses present and future need, trends, problems, and profit opportunities of the service department
- Works with Service Manager on deficiencies relating to performance with the service desk
- Establishes short and long-term operating and financial objectives for the service advisors and manager, within the Company’s overall plans and policies
- Ensures that approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied within the department
- Formulates annual and monthly sale/profit objectives and monitors expenses in accordance with company objectives
- Reviews and appraises the results of the activities within the departments and takes appropriate action, as necessary
- Selects, coaches, leads, trains, and supervises vehicle technicians and advisors
- Works to consistently improve CSI and performance of advisors
Automotive Service Director Qualifications:
- Experience as an Automotive Service Director who has lead a minimum of 5 advisors and 15 technicians in a dealership setting required.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to get the job done
- Ability to run the department as a business
- Encourage and protect positive culture
- Extremely focused on following and guarding processes
- Ability to coach and mentor staff
