Crown Staffing is currently seeking an experienced Truck Parts Salesperson to fill an opening with a local Manufacturing company in Westland, MI.
Job Summary
A Heavy Duty Truck Parts Salesperson is responsible for assisting customers in identifying, selecting, and purchasing parts for commercial trucks and heavy-duty vehicles. This role requires strong product knowledge, customer service skills, and the ability to manage inventory and sales transactions efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers (in-person, phone, or online) in locating and purchasing heavy-duty truck parts
- Identify parts using catalogs, software systems, and technical knowledge
- Provide accurate pricing, availability, and product information
- Process sales transactions, invoices, and returns
- Maintain and organize inventory, including stocking and cycle counts
- Build and maintain relationships with commercial clients, mechanics, and fleet operators
- Upsell or recommend additional parts and related products
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for special orders
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (automotive or diesel training preferred)
- Knowledge of heavy-duty truck parts (e.g., brakes, suspension, driveline, engine components)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic computer skills (inventory systems, POS systems)
- Ability to read parts diagrams and technical manuals
- Sales experience (preferred but not always required)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in heavy-duty truck parts sales or diesel repair
- Familiarity with parts lookup systems such as Mitchell1 or PartsTech
- Knowledge of major brands like Cummins, Detroit Diesel, or Bendix
Work Environment
- Retail parts counter, warehouse, or dealership setting
- May involve exposure to grease, noise, and shop conditions
- Fast-paced environment with frequent customer interaction
Compensation
- Hourly wage or salary + commission (varies by employer)
