Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Parts Department Manager to lead our parts operations with enthusiasm and precision. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the parts department team to ensure optimal performance in inventory control, order processing, and customer interactions.
- Manage supply chain activities including sourcing, procurement, demand planning, and logistics to guarantee timely availability of parts.
- Oversee supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and terms, and evaluate vendor performance to maximize value.
- Utilize ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and order management software to track inventory levels, process orders, and maintain accurate data entry records.
- Coordinate warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, equipment repair, and storage organization using warehouse management systems.
- Implement inventory management strategies such as demand forecasting, stock rotation, and cycle counting to minimize shortages or overstock situations.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to warehouse operations, forklift use, and equipment handling while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with automotive service teams to support OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications and auto body repair needs.
- Monitor pricing strategies for parts sales to optimize profitability while maintaining competitive market positioning.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement management, logistics efficiency, and customer service delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience in supply chain management within the automotive or manufacturing industry with a focus on parts or inventory control.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, auto body repair processes, OEM parts sourcing, and automotive service operations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships through negotiation and sourcing strategies.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as AS400 or similar order management platforms; experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is a plus.
- Hands-on warehouse management experience including shipping & receiving procedures; forklift certification is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with familiarity in equipment repair and HVAC systems relevant to dealership operations.
- Excellent data entry skills paired with attention to detail for accurate inventory tracking and reporting.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and external vendors.
- Ability to analyze supply chain data for demand planning purposes; experience with procurement management is advantageous.
- Knowledge of dealership operations including sourcing from OEM suppliers, auto repair processes, and logistics coordination is highly desirable.
