We are a highly reputable automotive repair shop in Cookeville, established in 1969, specializing in transmission and drivetrain repairs along with general automotive service. Our shop is known for honesty, quality work, and treating customers like family.
We are looking for a driven, organized, and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our team and play a key role in both the customer experience and overall shop performance.
Position Overview
This is a customer-facing and performance-driven role at the front of our shop. You will be the primary point of contact for customers while also helping ensure work flows efficiently from start to finish.
This role is critical to:
- Keeping vehicles moving through the shop
- Ensuring customers are informed and taken care of
- Supporting technicians so they can stay productive
The right person will help drive both customer satisfaction and shop performance.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide a professional, welcoming experience
- Clearly communicate vehicle concerns, recommended repairs, and pricing
- Create and manage repair orders (ROs) accurately
- Follow up on estimates and help customers make informed decisions
- Provide regular updates to customers throughout the repair process
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure smooth workflow
- Order and track parts as needed
- Ensure invoices are accurate and properly closed
- Help keep vehicles moving efficiently through the shop
- Maintain organized and up-to-date customer records
Qualifications
- Previous service advisor and customer service experience preferred
- Basic automotive understanding, and the ability to quickly learn and confidently communicate repair needs to customers
- Sales experience preferred
- Strong communication skills (phone and in-person)
- Basic computer skills (email, data entry, familiarity with TekMetric is a plus)
- Ability to stay organized and handle multiple tasks
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to stay focused in a busy environment
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
