Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Explain service recommendations clearly, including auto diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures
- Prepare detailed service estimates using auto estimating and service writing tools
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmission work, suspension, alignment, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs
- Upsell additional services and maintenance packages to enhance vehicle performance and safety while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently
- Maintain thorough records of all service activities, customer interactions, and vehicle histories
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair processes
- Extensive knowledge of automotive systems including transmissions, oil changes, brakes, suspensions, alignments, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repairs
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Experience in auto estimating software and service writing to generate accurate quotes and invoices
- Demonstrated ability to upsell services while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Mechanical knowledge combined with mechanic experience enhances credibility with both customers and technicians
- Strong sales skills with a focus on automobile sales when applicable
- Ability to handle cash transactions responsibly while managing multiple priorities in a busy environment
