Operations Manager / Mobile Tire Technician
Northern Skye Tires / GoMobile Tires Alaska is looking for a reliable, hard-working Operations Manager / Mobile Tire Technician to help run day-to-day mobile tire and light automotive service operations.
This is a hands-on position. You will be working out in the field, hauling a mobile tire trailer, servicing customers on-site, and helping keep the business organized, safe, and professional. The right person needs to be mechanically inclined, trustworthy with customers, comfortable driving and backing up a trailer, and capable of working independently.
Responsibilities
- Perform mobile tire services, including mounting, balancing, rotations, seasonal changeovers, flat repairs, and tire inspections
- Perform light vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, wiper blade replacement, battery service, and basic vehicle checks
- Safely tow, maneuver, park, and back up an enclosed mobile service trailer
- Travel to customer locations throughout the service area, including homes, businesses, and job sites
- Maintain a clean driving record and operate company vehicles/equipment safely at all times
- Inspect tires and vehicles, explain findings clearly to customers, and recommend needed services
- Provide professional, respectful customer service in the field
- Keep the mobile unit, tools, equipment, and inventory clean, stocked, and organized
- Track supplies, parts, tires, disposal items, and service materials
- Follow safety procedures when lifting vehicles, using tire equipment, handling batteries, and working roadside or on-site
- Help improve workflow, scheduling, customer communication, and daily operations as the company grows
- Assist with training future team members as needed
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Experience hauling, backing up, and maneuvering a trailer
- Automotive, tire shop, mobile service, dealership, or mechanical experience preferred
- Ability to safely lift and handle tires, wheels, tools, and equipment
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, jacks, torque wrenches, tire machines, and balancing equipment
- Strong attention to detail and safety
- Able to work independently without constant supervision
- Good communication skills with customers and team members
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to work in Alaska weather conditions
- Comfortable using a phone/tablet for scheduling, invoicing, photos, and customer communication
Preferred Experience
- Tire mounting and balancing experience
- Oil change and light maintenance experience
- TPMS knowledge
- Trailer towing experience in winter conditions
- Customer service or field service experience
- Previous leadership or shop management experience is a plus, but not required

You do not need to know everything on day one, but you do need to be dependable, mechanically capable, coachable, and serious about doing quality work.
Schedule / Pay
Pay depends on experience.
Schedule may vary based on customer demand, weather, and service appointments.
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
