Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Service Advisor Parts Manager with preferably prior experience working with automotive parts and dealership environments. Duties
- Oversee daily parts department operations, including inventory control, order management, and warehouse management to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and coordinate procurement activities to secure quality parts at competitive prices.
- Utilize ERP systems and order management systems to process purchase orders, track shipments, and maintain accurate data entry records.
- Collaborate with the service team to ensure timely availability of parts for automotive diagnostics, repairs, and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.
- Implement demand planning strategies to forecast parts needs based on service schedules and historical data.
- Supervise shipping & receiving processes, ensuring proper handling of automotive parts, equipment repair supplies, and HVAC components.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards such as forklift operation certifications and equipment repair protocols while managing warehouse logistics.
- Support sourcing initiatives for auto body repair materials and OEM parts while managing inventory levels using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to improve procurement terms and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing internal department needs promptly and professionally.
Experience
- Proven experience in dealership or automotive service environments with a focus on parts management or supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, auto body repair processes, OEM parts sourcing, and automotive repair procedures.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems, ERP platforms such as AS400 or similar enterprise software solutions.
- Hands-on experience with inventory management techniques including demand planning, procurement management, and inventory control strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and manage procurement processes efficiently.
- Experience working within logistics frameworks involving shipping & receiving, sourcing materials, and managing order fulfillment cycles.
- Mechanical knowledge related to automotive equipment repair and HVAC systems is a plus.
- Excellent data entry skills combined with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records in CMMS or similar systems.
- Prior dealership experience is highly preferred to understand the nuances of OEM standards and customer service expectations in automotive parts management.
